BCS PROGRAMS
Family Involvement
In addition to providing safe and enriching experiences for children at school, BCS provides support for families and caregivers to build community.
Family Dinners
Each month, BCS hosts a Family Dinner at the center, planned by our Family Connections Coordinator and our Directors. These events provide opportunities for families to get to know one another and BCS staff, to share food from the many diverse cultures represented at our school, and to build community in a social setting. Sometimes our Family Dinners are potlucks, and sometimes food is prepared by volunteers or BCS staff. Some dinners are accompanied by performances, child presentations, or fundraisers like our Silent Auction; no matter what, we always have a great time! All BCS families are always welcome!
May Family Dinner: Thursday, May 22nd, 4:00pm
Coffee Chats
Another monthly routine at BCS is a morning Coffee Chat right after drop-off. Families and caregivers can stop by our Studio space for coffee, tea, or a treat, and spend time with our Directors or staff members. Some Coffee Chats are also attended by community organizations like Burlington Parks & Recreation, local Girl Scouts Troops, or representatives from the Burlington School District. All caregivers are welcome to swing by and say hello at the next Coffee Chat!
May Coffee Chat: Thursday, May 29th, 8:30am
Classroom Visits
Family Events in the Community
Families are also welcome to visit their children's classrooms! Whether your child is transitioning to a new classroom, exploring a new curriculum, or simply wants to share their space, let your child's teachers know if you would like to set up a time to visit.
